Why do we incorporate movement into the International Girls Choir? Here’s why:
🎠It makes performances more engaging – adding movement transforms a vocal-only performance into something much more captivating for audiences.
🎶 It supports our performing arts curriculum – we’re not just teaching singing, but also dance, stagecraft, and physical expression.
🧠It boosts kinesthetic learning – movement often matches words or musical cues (like reaching up on a high note), helping girls physically connect with what they’re singing. This is also a great way to remember song lyrics!

Introducing our Tutor Tip series, where our IGC Tutors share their go-to advice for young performers! 🎶✨
Today, Alice is taking us back to basics with a simple but essential reminder: always warm up your voice before singing. Just like dancers warm up their bodies, singers need to prepare their vocal cords – they’re muscles too!
Next time you practise at home, try starting with a gentle hum or a lip trill. You might be surprised by how much easier and more comfortable singing feels afterward! 🎤
